Easy DIY Halloween Party Favors

There are so many cute Halloween party favor ideas floating about the web, like the witch's broom goodie bags for example, though they do require some DIY experience. These tin-tie bakery bags are the perfect size for a Halloween goodie bag, and they require no crafting skills. I love howthe favor bags I made them with are cute enough for kids but still nice enough for the grown-ups as well. All you need are the bakery bags, ribbon, and 3D Halloween stickers from the craft store. You can use the smaller bag pictured above or a larger bakery bag with a window display. I like to fill the larger ones with treats to give out as holiday presents to neighbors and teachers.

Simply fill the bags with a Halloween treat (homemade or store-bought), close them up and tie them off with ribbon, then affix a sticker to each bag. These are food-grade bags, so they're perfect to fill with homemade fall treats like popcorn, kettle corn, or Halloween chocolates. Try my DIY gourmet popcorn

Snapshots from the Week

Is it really already April? A part of me feels like my wedding is so far away, while another part of me is noticing the months fly by. I have a feeling it's going to get here before I know it...which would explain my recent nightmare about getting the wrong wedding dress.

I think the weeks are flying by now that I get to see my fiance so much more often, and I'm so much more happy. Time does fly when you're having fun. Granted stresses pop up here and there, but when you're with someone who genuinely loves you, it makes everything seem okay.

We stopped by Barnes & Noble to feed our coffee habit, and my fiance tried the new Cromuffin. Turns out it's just croissant dough cooked into a muffin shape with some cinnamon. Not nearly as amazing as the cronut that took the east coast by storm when I lived up in Maryland. Though I do highly recommend the Chipotle Browie! Yum!

I had planned on getting Save the Dates mailed off this week, so this past week I finished up with the gift registries and added a little more info to our wedding website. Every little task completed makes me feel closer to the big day. On one hand, I've come to feel like marriage is just a piece of paper...that as long as you love and are committed to someone, it doesn't make a difference one way or the other. But on the other hand, now that I've found the right one, I am so looking forward to calling this man my husband.

We also went to see Cinderella the musical at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center downtown. It has become my favorite Disney Princess story and my favorite romance in general really, because I have had my fair share of wicked-stepmother characters. My fiance has too. I never believed in being saved by a man before...Prince Charming and all that; I'm supposed to be a strong woman and save myself, right? But my fiance didn't just swoop in a fix everything (though he did fix a lot of things for me and made my life so much better), but he also loved me in such a way that helped me to stand up for myself and to love myself more than I ever have. That's when you know you've got a real Prince Charming, ladies.
