Easy Everyday Contouring and Highlighting

Contouring and highlighting has been a huge makeup trend in recent years, and with good reason - you can use concealer to achieve more defined cheek bones, to make your lips look bigger, and my personal favorite - to hide a double chin. And despite all of the intricate tutorials out there, I want to show you that it can actually be quick an easy!

The first trick is to start with the right concealer shades. First, let’s get one thing straight: when I say highlighter, I do not mean the super light and shimmery highlighter that should only be reserved for above the cheekbones. I’ve seen all too many makeup vloggers apply that all over, from the forehead to the tip of the nose, to the cupid’s bow and the chin. Those however, are rather places for a creamy skin-tone concealer.

How to Pick the Right Shade of Concealer

For the highlights, you want a concealer that is one to two shades lighter than your foundation. If you just go one shade lighter, as I have, pick one with a yellow tone, so y…

May Letter from the Editor

Happy May! There are so many beautiful flowers blooming here in Oklahoma. I've posted a few pics here and here if you want to take a peek. I hope you're having a wonderful month so far! I'm trying to stop and enjoy the rest of spring, because before we know it, summertime will be here. Pictured: Vera Bradley 2016 Agenda in Buffalo Check Burnt Orange

My wedding plans are underway, and you can keep up with those on the wedding blog each Wednesday. I am trying to not bombard you guys with too much wedding content, but from what I've noticed so far, just about every woman loves to look at pretty wedding stuff; whether she's engaged, already married, or single. Still, I'll stick with Wednesdays so I can have time for other great content as well.

First up this month is of course Mother's Day. I've posted the 2016 Mother's Day Gift Guide with so many great ideas for the stylish and modern mom...I would personally love anything and everything on the guide.

I plan to add some lovely new brunch recipes for spring entertaining, but in the meantime, make sure you check out a few oldies but goodies, like these Blueberry Lemon Puff Pastry Bites and this pretty pink fizzy cocktail.

With summer around the corner, I'll be posting some new fashion guides and perhaps a giveaway. And though I may add a few new smoothie or salad recipes, don't worry...I solemnly swear to not post about how to get a bikini body by summer. I for one am aiming for one killer tankini body, because I love food and I don't work out every day, and I am totally okay with that. I do have my wedding dress fitting coming up in July though, so I will be trying to get a little bit healthier. I certainly appreciate fit bloggers like the Tone It Up girls and a new friend I recently made at A Latte Lipstick.

So you know the drill...let me know what you've enjoyed on the blog lately and if there is anything else you'd love to see.

Enjoy the rest of Spring and have a lovely May!:)
