KCL Friday Finds

Happy weekend!! We are still busy over here with getting settled in. I know Ken and I will be utterly happy when we don't have to do anything extra to do...just a normal day-to-day routine plus our dates on the weekends. We will at least be on more of a schedule this coming week, as our kiddos start at their new school! And I've managed to get on a bit of a schedule with work, with just a few extra things on my to-do. I hope you all have a good weekend and enjoy some of my favorite links from the week. Grab a cup of coffee and sit back and relax. Image via Chevrons & Eclairs.

Snapshots from the Week

There were several fun things to do this last week, including the Renaissance Fair and Cinco de Mayo. We took the munchkins to The Castle of Muskogee for opening weekend of the Renaissance Festival, and my fiance and I went downtown Tulsa for Cinco de Mayo. Well, and as you can see, we enjoyed some Krispy Kreme.

It had been a long time since I'd gone to the Renaissance Festival here in Oklahoma. I was happy to go with my better half this time. We ate yummy food, saw the royal court, watched the jousting, worked on our archery skills, and of course enjoyed some beer.

We finally made some time to catch up with friends - one of my bridesmaids and her husband - at Cosmo Cafe on Brookside in Tulsa. It was already pretty high on my list of favorite places. After realizing they have Guinness and tasting their espresso, Guinness, and Irish Cream Brownies...um, yum!! I definitely want to go back there just for the dessert...and the Guinness...and some more nachos.

We like to take walks too...well, my fiance likes to run, and I kind of have to walk because of my back. But it's still nice to go together and enjoy being outside in this lovely weather. We take relaxing walks too, so we can just spend time together walking and talking. This trail along Riverside is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

Last but definitely not least, we celebrated Cinco de Mayo downtown. I never knew there is a Mexican bar downtown that hosts luchador matches. I'm always up for fun and interesting things like that. Apparantly they do that inside Elote every week, but for Cinco de Mayo, they put up a big ring in the street and block off part of downtown, complete with the luchador matches, margaritas galore, and chihuahua races. We finished off the evening by watching Nacho Libre with the kiddos. Quite the perfect way to celebrate.
