25 Halloween Costumes w/Your LBD

The easiest way to create a last-minute or inexpensive Halloween costume is to start with things you already have. I do it every year, because I get so frustrated with how expensive yet poorly-made most Halloween costumes are. I'd rather use what is already in my closet, or spend a little extra on accessories or a new dress that I can wear anytime of the year. A little black dress is the easiest way to use what you have to create a Halloween costume with a few inexpensive accessories and other accessories you probably already have in your closet.Pictured Above: Halloween Black Mesh Dress

1. Black Cat - This is the easiest way to use your little black dress on Halloween. I know it's pretty much the most generic costume in history, but for good reason - it's just so easy and affordable. It's the perfect last-minute costume for women, because you could really use any black outfit even if you don't have a little black dress. Pair it with your black flats or heels and a…

Snapshots from the Week

Most of my snaps from this past week are from last weekend, because I spent most of the week in bed. You can read more whining on that in my Wednesday wedding blog. But finally (I think) I am on the mend and ready to have some fun with my love this weekend. It's Mayfest time in Tulsa after all.

I feel like this could be a weekly thing...Krisztina and Ken's wine review, because we both love to drink wine, it always ends up in my Instagram feed. This week we tried McManis Family Vineyards Merlot. It was...okay. When I asked my fiance to refresh my memory on what exactly we thought of this wine, he said that we liked it but we weren't exactly blown away by it. So basically it wasn't disappointing, but we won't exactly be craving it anytime soon. I do remember it being dry, which I like, with fruity flavors shining through without any sweetness. If that's the kind of red you like, I'd suggest Angeline, or the kind I suggested last week - Cavit Select Red Blend.

And how cute is this Middle Sister wine? We didn't try it this week, but I still had to snap a pic. The labels on different varietals each have a different pic with a cute, funny caption. My fiance and I also tried some new beers - two different Scotch ales called McEwan's and Claymore. Both very yummy!

Our staycation hotel getaway this month was the first hotel we've been to that I will take the time to give a bad review...a very, very bad review. At Aloft Tulsa, the walls were very thin, which wouldn't have been as annoying if it hadn't been for all the drunk people yelling in the hallway all night and puking in the morning, not to mention the drunk chicks who hit on my fiance in the elevator as he went down to get some ice and Tylenol for my neck. I mean, I can't blame them, he is cute and handsome and sexy (yes, all three). But damn bitches, back off.

Yes, the Aloft hotel looks cool, very modern, but it's clearly the place to go if you want to party all night in the hotel bar. The only party my fiance and I want during our hotels stays are the kind we have on those luxurious hotel beds, thank you very much. I can't speak for all Aloft hotels, but the one off 169 in Tulsa - horrible.

Though despite the bad hotel and my neck injury, we did have a lovely dinner. We went back to Zio's, where we met for the first time and had our first date. Every time we go back there, it's so romantic. Besides it's absolutely delicious, great prices, huge portions, and the best tiramisu in town. If you love Italian, you've got to try Zio's.

Another restaurant we tried last week was Fish Daddy's. It's not bad for a weeknight dinner. Our one criticism was that it took a while to get our food, but the food was very yummy and the price was great.

Last but certainly not least, if you're on the hunt for a movie about both a killer gingerbread man AND a bong, well, search no longer. When you're on bed rest and searching through hulu and Netflix for hours, you come across some extremely strange things. As luck would have it, they made a sequel - Gingerdead Man 2: Bakery of Blood.

Well, I hope you've had a very lovely week and have a great weekend ahead! You can see my Mayfest pics before they hit the blog next week by keeping up on Instagram over the weekend. Have a good one!:)

  1. Such a great post, beautiful! Are you guys into Pinot Noir, I highly suggest Cherry Tart by Cherry Pie, as well as Winter Vineyards Collection (Marques de Riscal). My husband and I love wine, too, but we mostly prefer red, specifically Pinot Noir and Merlot. Virgin Wines has an amazing membership that we usually sign up for around the holidays and then cancel because then, we just have so much and not enough storage! You can get a whole box of different assortment of wine with an accompanying book that suggests which one to pair with specific meals. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy much of your stay at the hotel. Man, some women these days can be SO thirsty, even more so then men, haha! At least the food was good! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I'm also glad that you're feeling better, have fun at Mayfest!
