The easiest way to create a last-minute or inexpensive Halloween costume is to start with things you already have. I do it every year, because I get so frustrated with how expensive yet poorly-made most Halloween costumes are. I'd rather use what is already in my closet, or spend a little extra on accessories or a new dress that I can wear anytime of the year. A Festive Color Palette


Happy Wedding Wednesday! This week I really have wedding planning on the brain, even more so than usual. Just a few more weeks until my first fitting and bridesmaid dress shopping, and I just registered my fiance and myself for the okBride Oklahoma Bridal Show that will be in Tulsa this Sunday.


One of the featured vendors at the Oklahoma Bridal Show will be the venue where we're getting married - Dresser Mansion. I had already had a color palette in mind before my fiance and I settled on the Dresser. Red roses have a sentimental meaning to us, so I knew we'd want to incorporate that as the main color. I also wanted to incorporate gold to add some glamour.

As luck would have it, Dresser Mansion decorates for the holiday season. Since we're getting married in December, the mansion will already be adorned with their red and gold Christmas decorations. That combined with how beautiful the mansion is all on its own, I really don't need to spend money on arrangements. I do want to use some red flowers, but for the most part, the decorating will already be done for me!:)





They assured us that we are free to remove any of their decorations and replace them with our own, but considering how much my fiance and I love Christmas, and the fact that we already planned on red for our main color, we wouldn't dream of taking any of their decorations down.     I didn't know you were getting married in December, it's going to be even more gorgeous because that time of year is so beautiful, whimsical, and cheerful!
