KCL 2018 Beauty Awards

Welcome to the latest beauty edit and the very first beauty awards here on the blog! I’ve tried so many wonderful beauty products this year and wanted to let you guys know which were my top must-have products of the year. I’ve picked from new and small businesses only, as I love to work with indie brands. And like most of the beauty brands I review; most of these are organic, natural, and cruelty-free.

These are the items that long after the required testing and promotion period, I find myself still using and preferring above any others. The're the products which despite a never ending stream of free PR samples, I would still spend my own money (and in some cases have) in order to get more of. And whether affordable or more costly, these are the beauty products that I truly think are worth the price. So if you’re thinking about adding more beauty or selfcare products into your 2019 routine, I highly recommend each of these brands.

A Fairytale Playlist

http://movies.disney.com/cinderella-2015-gallery?image_id=5578ddef37e197426f01ec46

Two very important songs at any wedding include the first-dance song and the song played when the bride walks down the aisle. A few months ago while Ken and I were at brunch, listening to romantic jazzy music, the Frank Sinatra version of "The Way You Look Tonight" came on, and we talked about having that type of music played at our wedding. Then he suggested that song in particular could be what we have our first dance to, and I simply said, "Yeah!:)" with a smile. And that was that...it is officially going to be our song. It's been one of my favorite romantic songs for as long as I can remember.

As far as the rest of the music, there are a few modern songs I love by the likes of Sara Bareilles, Ed Sheeran, Norah Jones, etc.

But what I absolutely had to plan on adding to the wedding playlist were a few of the songs from the latest Cinderella movie. I've always felt a connection to the Disney character Cinderella in that I've had some very tough breaks, even from an early age, and some very tough times in my life in which I was treated very poorly for no reason other than the cruelness of others, but I never let it detract from my own caring nature, and I knew...or hoped, that someday my situation would drastically change. And it did. :)

We're getting married in a beautiful mansion, I'll be wearing a humongous princess dress, and while I don't plan to arrive in a gilded pumpkin carriage, I'll be marrying my prince charming. It's only fitting that I use a few songs from the new Cinderella movie, don't you think?

I'm thinking that the song above is perfect for walking down the aisle, and this other song should be mixed into the play list sometime during the reception. What are some of your favorite love songs? Let me know in the comments below.:)

  1. Sinatra's a good choice. I love that movie, and the music score. Patrick Doyle's a terrific composer.
