KCL Friday Finds

Happy weekend!! I've got another round up of beautiful home decor items for you guys today. It hasn't been intentional, it just so happens that the Friday Finds participants have all been home decor shops lately, and I'm loving it! With Spring coming up soon, it's the perfect time to spruce things up around the house and update your decor for the new season. Pictured: Geometric Pineapple Jewelry Holder/Home Accessory

First up is something we could all use more of in our homes - hygge by Snygge Home (pronounced snoo-gue). Snygge is a play on the danish word hygge that I'm sure you've heard of by now...or at least seen and thought what is hygge anyway? Hygge is "a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being." You can read more about it on Hygge Home.

At Snygge Home, owner Alice and her boyfriend Jack create hygge-inspired homeware, gifts, and event decorations using 3D printing. And like most E…

A Fairytale Playlist

Two very important songs at any wedding include the first-dance song and the song played when the bride walks down the aisle. A few months ago while Ken and I were at brunch, listening to romantic jazzy music, the Frank Sinatra version of "The Way You Look Tonight" came on, and we talked about having that type of music played at our wedding. Then he suggested that song in particular could be what we have our first dance to, and I simply said, "Yeah!:)" with a smile. And that was is officially going to be our song. It's been one of my favorite romantic songs for as long as I can remember.

As far as the rest of the music, there are a few modern songs I love by the likes of Sara Bareilles, Ed Sheeran, Norah Jones, etc.

But what I absolutely had to plan on adding to the wedding playlist were a few of the songs from the latest Cinderella movie. I've always felt a connection to the Disney character Cinderella in that I've had some very tough breaks, even from an early age, and some very tough times in my life in which I was treated very poorly for no reason other than the cruelness of others, but I never let it detract from my own caring nature, and I knew...or hoped, that someday my situation would drastically change. And it did. :)

We're getting married in a beautiful mansion, I'll be wearing a humongous princess dress, and while I don't plan to arrive in a gilded pumpkin carriage, I'll be marrying my prince charming. It's only fitting that I use a few songs from the new Cinderella movie, don't you think?

I'm thinking that the song above is perfect for walking down the aisle, and this other song should be mixed into the play list sometime during the reception. What are some of your favorite love songs? Let me know in the comments below.:)

  1. Sinatra's a good choice. I love that movie, and the music score. Patrick Doyle's a terrific composer.

  2. Such a cute image you added in! "Just the Way You Look Tonight" would be great from a live jazz band! :)
