How to Pack Tech Devices for Your Flight
If you’re planning a trip at some point in the near future, it’s good to know how you should be packing any gadgets that you’re planning to take along to make sure that you have a smooth run though the airport and when boarding. Depending on factors such as your luggage capacity, length of stay and the purpose of your visit, you may need to pack in such a way that your electronics, gadgets, and other basic necessities are able to travel with you safely. We’ve put together a handy guide to help you ensure that you’ve packed all your electronics and gadgets ready for your flight. Image via
Pack in Your Cabin Bag
No matter how secure your large suitcase may be, it’s always a bad idea to check any electronic items and gadgets such as laptops and tablets into the hold. The last thing that you want is for something to go wrong, such as your suitcase to be damaged in transit and therefore the contents be damaged as well, or even worse, your suitcase getting lost or stolen with all of your electronic devices stowed away inside. Airlines will strongly advise against packing any items of value in your checked luggage due to these reasons, so the best thing to do is put them in your carry-on, where you can keep them safe. Preparing for Security
When you go through security at the airport, you’ll need to take all of your electronic devices out of your cabin bag and put them separately onto the conveyor belt in order to go through the x-rays. Leaving electronic devices such as laptops, tablets, smartphones and in some cases even hairdryers in your cabin bag when it goes through security could result in your bag flagging up and a search being conducted of it, which could mean that you end up rushing for your flight or even worse, missing it altogether. Because of this, make sure that all of your electronic devices are packed in easy to access areas at the top of the case where you can easily take them out and put them back in through security. Of course, when traveling with your electronic devices, the last thing that you want is for anything to happen to them. Even if you’re taking your electronics in your cabin bag in order to both make sure that you can be aware of what’s happening with them and also have easier access to them whilst on the flight, it’s also important to make sure that they are safe. If there are gadgets which you don’t plan to be using on the flight, wrapping them in bubble wrap or other padding will help to make sure that there are no breakages caused in the cabin.
If you have to take a lot of gadgets on your trip with you, making sure that they’re protected from damage when in transit should be a top priority. And most important of all, have fun on your trip!
