KCL Friday Finds

Happy weekend!! I've got another round up of beautiful home decor items for you guys today. It hasn't been intentional, it just so happens that the Friday Finds participants have all been home decor shops lately, and I'm loving it! With Spring coming up soon, it's the perfect time to spruce things up around the house and update your decor for the new season. Pictured: Geometric Pineapple Jewelry Holder/Home Accessory

First up is something we could all use more of in our homes - hygge by Snygge Home (pronounced snoo-gue). Snygge is a play on the danish word hygge that I'm sure you've heard of by now...or at least seen and thought what is hygge anyway? Hygge is "a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being." You can read more about it on Hygge Home.

At Snygge Home, owner Alice and her boyfriend Jack create hygge-inspired homeware, gifts, and event decorations using 3D printing. And like most E…

My First Wedding Dress Fitting

Another Wednesday means another wedding blog! I did several things related to wedding planning this last week; including registering for gifts at Dillard's, helping my bridesmaids pick out their dresses, and having my first dress fitting.

The good news is my dress zipped! The bad news is I will have to shave a few pounds if I want to be able to breath during the wedding. Breathing would be good. I could always have it let out, but I'd much rather take it as motivation to quit stuffing my face with too many calories...challenge accepted!

It was so fun to put my dress on again. I debated showing a mirror selfie, as I've shown sneak peeks of the dress here and there, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. The bridal look as a whole should be reserved for the wedding day and wedding photos. Though that didn't stop me from sending a selfie to my fiance ha. I just couldn't resist. We don't need to worry about any wedding superstitions anyway.

Two of my bridesmaids and my oldest daughter (who will be my junior bridesmaid) each picked out their dresses. I kept the bridezilla to a minimum. I feel it's best to have coordinating, not exactly matching, bridesmaid dresses, so we started with an overall look with rough guidelines and went from there. Especially if you have out-of-town bridesmaids, it's easy to simply settle on a color, length, and fabric and let them pick the exact dress. They are paying for and wearing their dresses after all. I knew I wanted red, chiffon, and full-length, possibly with some lace or sparkly embellishments on top. You can also specify things like pleating and strap options if those things are important to your overall look. In the end, we went with some beautiful lace and chiffon dresses from David's Bridal.

Seeing my daughter try on dresses was so amazing.:) I can't wait to see our other daughters in their flower girl dresses!:) My oldest daughter went with this beautiful Junior Bridesmaid Gown.
