Snapshots from the Week
Hey! :) I hope your week is off to a great start. My fiance and I had a wonderful weekend here in Tulsa, and I'm looking forward to getting all of the pics up between here and the new Tulsa blog I'm working on.
As you can see above, the new Brides of Oklahoma issue is out. My fiance knew I'd been waiting on it, so he insisted on getting it for me when we saw it at Barnes & Noble. We also took two of our girls to see The Secret Life of Pets, and we all loved it...very funny and very cute and something every pet owner can relate to (we have a cat and a large German Shepherd).
For date night, it was our monthly hotel weekend. We were overdue for a good one, and this place was great for that. We went with a full suite at the Hilton Garden Inn midtown. I'll do a full post on that over on the Tulsa blog. But for now I'll go ahead and say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I say this every time, but I want to encourage couples to take time, even if it's just one night every now and then, to get away from the place you pay bills, scrub toilets, cook, etc., and just relax and focus on your partner. It's so worth it.
Ken had previously taken me to see a movie on the lawn at Guthrie Green, but I'd yet to experience a film on the lawn at Philbrook Museum (one of our favorite places in Tulsa). When he saw that Mary Poppins was playing on Friday, we settled on that for our weekend movie date. I really love Mary Poppins...like, a lot. I must have watched it a hundred times as a child, and I so enjoyed watching it with my fiance.
As you can see, there was wine.:) If you regularly keep up with this blog, you know that we like our red wine. And despite the hot Tulsa summer, the gardens at Philbrook were still full of beautiful plants and flowers.
We tried to have a total lazy day yesterday, but after a few hours of Netflix and social media, we had to get out of the house. A relaxing stroll down main street in Broken Arrow was just the thing. With all of the cute shops and yummy restaurants that have opened in the Rose District, it's become one of our favorite places in the area.
I hope you all have a very lovely week! :)
