25 Halloween Costumes w/Your LBD

The easiest way to create a last-minute or inexpensive Halloween costume is to start with things you already have. I do it every year, because I get so frustrated with how expensive yet poorly-made most Halloween costumes are. I'd rather use what is already in my closet, or spend a little extra on accessories or a new dress that I can wear anytime of the year. A little black dress is the easiest way to use what you have to create a Halloween costume with a few inexpensive accessories and other accessories you probably already have in your closet.Pictured Above: Halloween Black Mesh Dress

1. Black Cat - This is the easiest way to use your little black dress on Halloween. I know it's pretty much the most generic costume in history, but for good reason - it's just so easy and affordable. The Best End of Summer Dress Sales

Now is the perfect time to pick out a dress for homecoming or to find an affordable bridesmaid gown. Sites like Aisle Style are having end of summer sales with great deals on cocktail dresses, formal gowns, and prom dresses. Pictured: Strapless Sweetheart Pleated Chiffon Knee-Length Dress

I've suggested several times before on the blog, and personally went this route when I needed to purchase a bridesmaid dress, that a perfect way to save money on a gown is to try on dresses in a store to see which type you and the bride like best and which kind looks best on your figure and then find something similar online. This will help you get the look you want for less than half what you would pay in a boutique or bridal shop. If the bridesmaid dresses are in a universal color, like navy or classic red, you won't have to worry about color matching. Another option would be for the bride to have all of the bridesmaids pick from the same website to make sure the colors match properly. Pictured: Lilac Lace Bodice Chiffon Bridesmaid Gown

If you're concerned about sale items not being on trend, take a quick look at the new fall collections, or simply go with a classic piece. There are quite a few pieces from these prom dresses 2016 that will still be on trend both this fall and well into 2017. The two-piece gowns, for example, have been very trendy the last few years and will continue to be on trend for years to come. Pictured: Two-Piece Beaded Bodice with Tulle Skirt

Short prom dresses are perfect for other occasions as well, like a special night out or a holiday cocktail party. Personally I'd love to get something like the dress pictured above for the next time my fiance takes me on a fancy date to see the ballet. Pictured: Sleeveless V-Neck Lace and Chiffon Mini Dress
