Snapshots from the Week

This is another one of those snapshots from two weeks kind of posts. After my back got bad last week, I was lucky to get the wedding post up...and several days late. But I am on the mend finally and had an amazing weekend with my fiance, as we got a head start on celebrating our one year anniversary.:) But first, let me catch you up on last week.

First, pictured above is the Starbuck's berry sangria tea. It is amazing!! If you like blackberries, you absolutely must try it. So yummy!

Ken and I had some family time by the pool and took the girls to see World of Warcraft, and we went ourselves to see the new Bourne movie. Totally loved the Bourne movie. If you're a Jason Bourne fan, don't miss out on the latest installment. We loved it.

We also went to see Bad Moms at Warren Theater here is Broken Arrow. It was very funny. Actually, it was even more funny than I thought it was going to be...very inappropriate at times yes (fyi) but it made both of us laugh a lot, and it has a good overall message - quite trying to be the perfect parent, and you'll wind a being a much better one and a much happier one, and your kids will learn to be more self-sufficient as well.

For lunch, before the Bourne movie, Ken took me to check out Tally's Cafe on Route 66 in Tulsa. Neither of us had gone before, but they have liked so many of our food pics from around town, he thought we should finally give them a try. And boy were we glad we did. It was so delicious; and the food, atmosphere, and service were all great. Did I mention their prices are great too? We will definitely be going back there. It was honestly the best chicken fried steak I've ever had.

For our last date this week, we celebrated our one year anniversary.:) A few days early, as we met and had our first date on August 9th last year. It only took a few dates before we knew we wanted to be exclusive and wanted to see each other as often as possible.

The pic above, as you might've guessed, are the anniversary presents he gave me - roses, two new necklaces, and my favorite wine. Gifts is one of my love languages, and I've feeling VERY loved.:)

When I went shopping for his gift, I noticed a few new fall magazines are out at Barnes & Noble, so if you're as obsessed with pumpkins as I am, you can get your fix with the newest issue of Southern Lady.

For his present, I got a "Live, Laugh, Love" mug that he's been wanting from Barnes & Noble for quite a while, along with some black licorice, because he wanted some recently and couldn't find it in stores. (Target by 169 has some by the way, for any Tulsa readers who also may be looking for some.) And I got him this What I Love About You Today notepad. I filled out one sheet and saved the rest for later use.

We finished off the celebrating with dinner at El Guapo's Cantina. He's been to the one downtown, but looked up the one in south Tulsa and thought it looked really cool inside. It sure did! I took lots of pics for the Tulsa blog as we enjoyed the yummy food, the great atmosphere, and gigantic margaritas. We enjoyed the rest of the evening at home, snuggled on the couch watching Eddie the Eagle. Such a good movie. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out on Redbox.

This morning as we sipped our coffee in bed and reflected on relationships that we've both had to walk away from because they were one-sided and harmful relationships, I mentioned how freeing it feels to be away from those people, because being with him, I get the freedom to genuinely enjoy the good moments. Both the everyday moments and the very special occasions, like our anniversary and the holidays coming up, will truly by filled with joy and will be free from resentment, guilt, hurt, etc. that we both had to endure from previous spouses and family members. To experience pure love and enjoy these moments with him, I never thought I could feel that with someone else. I can't wait to marry him this December.:)

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that your week is off to a great start!
