Easy DIY Halloween Party Favors

There are so many cute Halloween party favor ideas floating about the web, like the witch's broom goodie bags for example, though they do require some DIY experience. These tin-tie bakery bags are the perfect size for a Halloween goodie bag, and they require no crafting skills. I love howthe favor bags I made them with are cute enough for kids but still nice enough for the grown-ups as well. All you need are the bakery bags, ribbon, and 3D Halloween stickers from the craft store. You can use the smaller bag pictured above or a larger bakery bag with a window display. I like to fill the larger ones with treats to give out as holiday presents to neighbors and teachers.

Simply fill the bags with a Halloween treat (homemade or store-bought), close them up and tie them off with ribbon, then affix a sticker to each bag. These are food-grade bags, so they're perfect to fill with homemade fall treats like popcorn, kettle corn, or Halloween chocolates. Try my DIY gourmet popcorn

Snapshots from the Week

Happy Friday! Or as we like to call it on Instagram - #FRIYAY! This week concludes our daughters' first full week back and school, and I like to think I still have my shit together. Their room is just as almost-sort of-clean as ever, my fiance and I still had time for our lovely dates, and so far no one's homework has mysteriously disappeared and no one has missed the bus...yet.

We swapped out our usual movie theater date for a trip to the Tulsa Ballet. Their second string performance TBII: On Your Radar was much more contemporary both in the music and choreography than the Tulsa Ballet shows we've seen at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. I love them both and am definitely looking forward to the upcoming season.

It was a great experience, and besides, it gave me a reason to wear one of the anniversary present he gave me earlier this month.:)

Before the Ballet, we had lunch at The Brook Restaurant and Bar on Brookside. As my fiance would say, the atmosphere is just okay, but oh my word...they have the best fish and chips of the ones I've tasted in Tulsa so far. And I'm pretty picky about my fish and chips.

We took the kiddos to spend some time at Barnes & Noble, and in the process, I saw the new Fall fashion issues. Ken bought me the VOGUE September issue.:) I went ahead and glanced at all of the fall issues while we sat and had some lovely chill time.

The wine we tried this week was very good. Merlot tends to be a bit dry for me, but the Gallo Family Merlot turned out to be bold but fairly smooth, and I could really taste the fruity flavors, especially the plum.

Our midweek date included some movie time at home after a very yummy lunch at Brownies Gourmet Burgers and a walk at Utica Square. It was still a bit hot though. My fiance and I are very much looking forward to what I like to call make-out weather. You know...not too hot or too cold to enjoy a nice stroll in the park or somewhere like Utica Square where we can take little breaks to kiss. If you see some inappropriate PDA in Tulsa this Fall, it's probably us. Sorry, not sorry!

The hibiscus at Utica Square are blooming a lot lately. The Tulsa summers can be brutal, but Utica has done such a great job of planting things in a way that something beautiful is always in bloom. And can you believe that squirrel? That little guy sprawled out to enjoy the cool pavement while he munched on his snack haha.

Well, I am eagerly awaiting my love being home for the evening, so you guys have a fun and relaxing weekend!:)
