How to Choose the Perfect Wedding Suit for Grooms

Looking their best when getting married has long been the priority of the bride. However, if you’re a guy who’s soon to be married, you will definitely want to look like you are worthy of your gorgeous bride on the day by wearing a well-fitted, high quality wedding suit. For many guys, choosing a wedding suit is a tricky business, especially if you are the type of guy who dresses in casual clothing most of the time. However, there’s nothing to worry about, as with the right tips and preparation, anybody can find the perfect suit for them to get married in. Read on for some of our top tips for finding the wedding suit of your dreams.

Plan Ahead

Getting the perfect wedding suit isn’t something that you can do last minute. Ideally, you should be buying a suit, as this means that you’ll be able to take your measurements and have a suit which is made to measure or altered to fit well. All good tailors will offer wedding suits for men, and will be able to give you some helpful tips and advice on the perfect style of suit for yourself and how to wear it. Make sure that you give yourself plenty of time in between ordering the suit and your wedding date, as you might find that it needs to be altered further to fit perfectly.

Avoid Suit Rental

For many bridegrooms-to-be, suit rental seems like a good idea as it’s usually much cheaper than purchasing a suit for yourself to wear on the big day. However, suit rental brings with it its own set of problems. Not only does the suit not belong to you, meaning that you’re probably going to spend all of your wedding reception worrying about damaging it, rented suits usually come as they are, meaning that you could end up with a suit that fits really badly and not much that you can do about it. Although buying a made-to-measure suit is definitely costlier, it’s also a very worthwhile investment, as you’ll be able to wear your suit to other occasions for years to come.

Accessories

For most guys who are looking for a wedding suit, it makes sense for them to purchase a suit or tuxedo which is versatile, so that they can use it for work or other occasions in the future. This also means that it’ll be easy to dress the suit up or down with accessories, for example a bow tie and lapel pin or flower for your wedding, but a crisp white shirt and plain black tie for work. If you’re thinking of doing this so that you’ll get the most for your money, be prepared to invest in some nice accessories for your wedding. A bow tie is a classic look for a bridegroom, and they can come ready-tied (or, ask your tailor to show you how to tie one if you’re not sure!)

Although all eyes tend to be on the bride at weddings, it’s important that her groom is looking dashing as well.
