KCL Friday Finds

Happy weekend, and welcome to Friday Finds! Today it's all about holiday hostess gifts. It about the time when you may have several seasonal parties and functions to attend, and you should never show up empty-handed. The best hostess gift should be something just for the hostess that he or she can use at a later time, either for entertaining or just for themselves. Just because you may have been assigned a side dish or drinks, you should still being along a special hostess gift.

A hostess gift doesn't need to cost a lot. They can range anywhere from $10-$25, and really should be on average $20. There are so many appropriate options in this price range - anything from a set of tea towels to a cookbook, or something gourmet, or even a little bath and body gift. If you need a hostess gift for a party or dinner this holiday season, you can't go wrong with one of the picks below.

This first one is my favorite, because it's a versatile multi-use item, and it's so chic. …

Editor's Pick of the Week

I wanted to start doing a quick pick of the week, for the weeks when I don't always get around to doing a full editor's picks post. I come across so many amazing trends and products every day that I've just got to share. This week it's definitely boots. I recently got to wear mine, because the weather has finally cooled off a bit here. I've been posting about fall fashion for a while, and finally having the right temperatures for it makes me want to really dive into fall boot and coat guides. Pictured: Stuart Weitzman Mitten Bootie

This week's pick is the Stuart Weitzman Mitten Bootie. I've honestly never tried this trend myself - an ankle boot with a skirt, but I certainly would like to. This particular boot is the perfect kind to wear with a feminine skirt. It's a soft suede and has a tight fit, the heel isn't too chunky, and it has a cute little tie-up lace in the back. All of these things works together beautifully to give it a feminine look that is perfect to pair with a flowy skirt. And come the winter months, you can wear them underneath a pair of boot-leg or flared jeans.

The Mitten Bootie comes in several rich colors here, and also comes in a light grey / taupe shade here. It is a bit pricey, so you can shop budget options below if you like. For more boot trends, check out the Amazon Fashion 2016 fall boot guide.
