Snapshots from the Week
What a busy week! These might include a few from last weekend, because I'm playing catch up again. But we managed to get everything done, and had some fun times amidst the busyness. Best of all, we celebrated our wedding shower, and this weekend we have some very nice dates and a hotel night so we can catch up with one-on-one time and have time to relax.
That very first pic is from Riverside Park last weekend. We went by our wedding venue Dresser Mansion to figure out table placement, and afterward we had a nice lunch at Panera and a lovely fall walk. I took one of those heart-shaped leaves home and tested the old hairspray preserving trick. It worked! So I have that leaf as a keepsake.:)
Before the busy wedding shower weekend started, we took the kids to Wizard World Comic Con in Tulsa. It was my first time going, and it was very fun. It was the perfect opportunity to test out our Halloween costumes, so I got to figure out my hair and makeup. You can see a tutorial for my vampire makeup here >.
We all love Halloween, in case you couldn't tell.:) We should just go ahead and dress as the Addam's Family one of these years. I'm sure our kids could attest to the fact that Ken and I are just as bad as Morticia and Gomez with the...shall we say, the passion.:)
On Saturday I spent a few hours with my bridesmaids so they could treat me to a manicure. I tend to do my own nails, so it was nice to get pampered. I picked the CND Vinyluxe polish in "pink bikini" to match my dress for the wedding shower.
The shower at Pinkitzel was perfect. It's one of my favorite places in Tulsa, and the party was so beautiful. And anything that makes me feel one step closer to marrying my fiance makes me so very happy. You can see more pics from that here >.
It was especially fun to see Pinkitzel decorated for Halloween. I'm itching to go back for some of their pumpkin macarons!
One of my bridesmaids had flown in from Washington state and had one day left after the shower. We spent a bit of time at the Rose District and on Brookside...two very good places to shop in Tulsa. On A Whim on Brookside was full of Mackenzie-Childs products as always, and I went by my favorite chocolate shop in Broken Arrow Nouveau Atelier de Chocolat to get a box for me and my fiance. How adorable is that hedgehog truffle?
While the weekend was fun, we needed to catch up on alone time, so we went to the movies at the beginning of this week. We were both disappointed by the Madea Halloween movie, but it was at least funny here and there, and it's always nice to snuggle up with my love. We did see Keeping Up with the Jones's over the weekend, and I highly recommend it. We are definitely looking forward to seeing Inferno and Ouija. We know we'll like those movies a lot.
I am very much looking forward to some relaxing and romantic time this weekend. We're seeing Onegin by the Tulsa Ballet tomorrow, and Halloween will be a little busy but lots of fun. We love Halloween! Have a great weekend and a Happy Halloween!:)
