Snapshots from the Week

What a week...an exhausting, draining, and painful week it's been. I was just telling my fiance this morning, as he was rejoicing that it's Friday, that I hope everyone can start fresh next week. That everyone who is upset can just start next week like new and move forward. His advice to me was that we should just release it...release some of the negativity we've been dealing with. Just release it, and as he also said earlier this week, focus on being better ourselves and not worrying about others if there is no resolution to be had. Because really, what more can we do? I'm going to go back to living my life to the best of my ability and posting silly animal videos on Facebook, and blogging about floral arrangements and fashion trends, etc. And I'm going to see Dr. Strange in theaters and eat way to much popcorn this weekend.

Now, as for last weekend and this week, as I've started rounding up on my Friday posts, Ken and I had lots of fun little discoveries and some wonderful dates. We visited the newly reopened library downtown Tulsa, ate at a great new place on Cherry Street called Roosevelt's, and a few other fun things.

Last weekend at the Tulsa Performing Art Center downtown, we saw a screening of Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark with the movie score performed live by the Tulsa symphony. What a treat! We started off the day with checking out the new library (very cool, by the way), eating at Roosevelt's (also very cool), and doing some window shopping on Cherry Street.

A lot of the local shops have their holiday items in and Christmas decor up, so it's such a treat to just walk around and enjoy looking at all of it. This time we looked in T.A. Lorton, Zoller, and The Nest. All gorgeous stores. But I have to say, it you check out one new shop in that area, make it The Nest. It's full of so many fun things, like that "Bitches Be Trippin' " step haha.

We didn't make it into Heirloom Baking Co. just yet, but we definitely want to try it sometime. We opted for coffee and snacks at Starbucks this week, because of the new holiday drinks. Those peppermint mochas and chestnut praline lattes are gooood. I also have to mention, we tried the Holiday Turkey and Stuffing panini at Starbuck's, and oh my word, it's heavenly. I cannot recommend it enough.

And last but not least, we went to the Rose District Tea Off this week. It was the first Christmas event Ken and I went to this year, and we really enjoyed it. They kicked it off with a tree lighting; and there were carriage rides, live Christmas music, the shops stayed open late, and there were free snacks and drinks in some of the shops. It was such a relaxing and romantic evening.:) I'll do a full post of it on the Tulsa blog soon.

This weekend we have some family time planned - a fun Harry Potter event at the Hardesty Library. And we are definitely seeing Dr. Strange and hopefully taking our minds off this week completely.

You guys have a wonderful weekend full of fun, relaxation, and love.

    1. Definitely. The Pottery Barn here has become one of our favorite spots for looking at holiday displays!

  2. I enjoyed Doctor Strange. I've attended symphony concerts here regularly, including the occasional performance with film music.
