A Sneak Peek at Our Wedding
Sometimes I feel as if Ken, my husband as of this past weekend, is a life coach of sorts, encouraging me through the challenging times we share. And as I've told him several times before, he is indeed a good leader for our family and our relationship.
Last night, as we were both sick and still feeling exhausted, and I had a hurt shoulder from the weekend; I admit, I was in a teensy bit of a funk...just ready to be done with this virus and wondering when my shoulder would stop hurting. But he said that he felt we succeeded because despite those and several other challenges, we accomplished everything that we wanted to accomplish. And he is so right. We had a very beautiful wedding, have had plenty of family holiday time with the kids, and we are very happy together.
We had a few lovely dates again this week, in fact, which I will share tomorrow. And we still have some more fun things planned for the holidays. But for today, here are some wedding pics that I took and that one of my best friends and bridesmaid took.
My brides maids were so amazing and helpful so that I could focus on getting myself ready and enjoy the day. They did some much-needed untangling of the flower girls' hair, and Kim (on the right) gave them beautiful up-do's.
As were were posing for pics, we reminisced about the fact that Kim had changed my eldest daughters diapers (that daughter is now 12 and was a junior bridesmaid), and Jess, my other best friend and maid of honor was actually there when I gave birth to my first daughter. In her speech later, she reminded me that we have been friends for almost 20 years. What a blessing to have the same best friends after so many years.
Our girls were peeking at us when we were posing for our portraits.:) I am so thankful my bridesmaid captured this moment.:) And I am so thankful to Ken for giving me such a Cinderella moment. We didn't have parents to pitch in with wedding expenses, so it all fell on his shoulders. And he gave me such a beautiful day that will fill me with joy every time I think of it.
I can't wait to share more after I get pics from the photographer! :)
