KCL Friday Finds

Happy weekend!! I've got another round up of beautiful home decor items for you guys today. It hasn't been intentional, it just so happens that the Friday Finds participants have all been home decor shops lately, and I'm loving it! With Spring coming up soon, it's the perfect time to spruce things up around the house and update your decor for the new season. Pictured: Geometric Pineapple Jewelry Holder/Home Accessory

First up is something we could all use more of in our homes - hygge by Snygge Home (pronounced snoo-gue). Snygge is a play on the danish word hygge that I'm sure you've heard of by now...or at least seen and thought what is hygge anyway? Hygge is "a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being." You can read more about it on Hygge Home.

At Snygge Home, owner Alice and her boyfriend Jack create hygge-inspired homeware, gifts, and event decorations using 3D printing. And like most E…

Snapshots from the Week

My last blog about highlights from the week was before New Year's Eve, so I should start by saying Happy New Year!! I hope you all had a fun New Year's Eve and have had a great start to 2017. As you can see in the first pic, we had snow!:) I'm not too keen on cold weather, but on the flip side, I LOVE snow.:)

Ken and I spent the day out shopping for party supplies and had a nice dinner at Roosevelt's, just the two of us, before we made it home to celebrate with our girls. We sipped on champagne while they got a sugar high from sparkling grape juice and watched the countdown festivities on T.V. It was a very happy New Year's celebration after our first Christmas as husband and wife, looking forward to many, many years to come.:)

And apparently for me, two 4oz. beer samples and a glass and a half of champagne require hangover food. We had a very yummy lunch at Pei Wei the next day and I slowly recovered ha.

We had a very nice date on Sunday afternoon, with lunch at Claret Cafe followed by coffee at Shades of Brown and window shopping on Brookside.

During the week, I made a new enchilada recipe...a healthier version to start the new year off right...and because I was out of cheese and didn't want to go to the store haha. But luckily it turned out amazing. You can get that recipe here.

Though the week has been very busy, Ken took me for another nice dinner out between work and a few errands. It was the second time he took me to Lassalle's downtown Tulsa, and it was just as amazing as the first time. Their Po Boy sandwiches and gumbo are so delicious. And this time they had some of their house-made pralines. Yum!! It's safe to assume everything on their menu is amazing!

Have to brag on my husband for a sec!:) In addition to this book he published recently, he also got this one up on Amazon as well. It's a collection of posts from his blog Forward to Happiness. It's about moving forward, hence the title; out of unhealthy relationships, work situations, friendships, etc. and finding real happiness by making positive choices for your life.

And in case you didn't notice, has changed to It has become a lengthy process of updating a lot of internal links and my site crashing for a few hours, but the new domain is at least in tact and of course the site is back up, and I am ready to add new content for the new year. Cheers to 2017 and have a great weekend!
