Snapshots from the Week
This past week was extra special, with Valentine's Day. Ken and I had a very nice date last weekend, and we exchanged a few more gifts on the actual day.🙂💕
But first, can we talk about that first pic? Is anyone else as excited as Ken and I are for the return of Stranger Things?! We binged on the first season and can't wait for it's return later this year. The first season is currently on Netflix, so if you haven't seen it yet, binge away!
We kicked off Valentine's weekend with some festive cinnamon rolls. These are totally from a Pillsbury can, so don't get too impressed ha. But the heart sprinkles were a nice touch.
We exchanged a few presents before our Valentine's date. I got Ken a pocket watch; he's been wanting one for quite a while now. He got me some more beautiful necklaces. He always picks out the prettiest stuff, and it always goes so well with my outfits. I wore the one on the right with my blue lace dress to the ballet that evening. The black one is going to be perfect with my black dresses and blouses.
Before the ballet, we ate at Fish Daddy's. It's really quite an underrated restaurant in Tulsa. The food is good, big portions, and the price is pretty great too.
The Tulsa Performing Arts Center was lit up in green for Dorothy and The Prince of Oz. It was such a beautiful ballet. It was the world premiere, so we weren't sure what to expect, but the costumes were amazing, and the story was quite interesting.
For dinner at home on Valentine's Day, I made some pasta that he's been wanting for a long time. We can never find his favorite wagon wheels pasta at our local grocery stores, but I tracked some down at a Reasor's.
We exchanged our cards and the rest of our gifts. I love to get cards from Ken. He puts a lot of thought into the cards he picks out, and then he writes something long and romantic in it as well. He also got me a Victoria's Secret gift card...the gift of shopping to one of my most favorite stores.💕And he got me this mug that we'd seen at Target together and I'd shared it to instagram not too long ago saying how much I liked it.🙂
After that week, it sounds silly to say that we really needed some more time together, but what can I say? We need a lot of time together...not just hanging out but romantic time when we're focused on each other. And he's had a rough work week, so a night out was in order. We had a last-minute date on Wednesday at Broken Arrow Warren Theater. In case my local readers have missed the times I've mentioned this - Wednesday night tickets are just $5! That excludes the director's suite and balcony theaters that you can order dinner in, but it does include some theaters with the big, soft recliners, and even their regular seats are very soft and comfortable.
We saw La La Land finally. We hadn't been in the mood and were unsure if it could live up to all the hype, but it was very good. Definitely one we'll see again will probably own when it comes out on DVD. I would love to do a review, especially on the ending, but I won't give any spoilers. Just trust me, if you haven't seen it yet (and assuming you like to watch singing and dancing and artistic cinematography), go see it while it's in theaters! And have a great weekend!!
