KCL 2018 Beauty Awards

Welcome to the latest beauty edit and the very first beauty awards here on the blog! I’ve tried so many wonderful beauty products this year and wanted to let you guys know which were my top must-have products of the year. I’ve picked from new and small businesses only, as I love to work with indie brands. And like most of the beauty brands I review; most of these are organic, natural, and cruelty-free.

These are the items that long after the required testing and promotion period, I find myself still using and preferring above any others. The're the products which despite a never ending stream of free PR samples, I would still spend my own money (and in some cases have) in order to get more of. And whether affordable or more costly, these are the beauty products that I truly think are worth the price. So if you’re thinking about adding more beauty or selfcare products into your 2019 routine, I highly recommend each of these brands.

Snapshots from the Week

Hey guys! I hope you had a great weekend. Ken and I caught up on some much-needed relaxing time, as he had to work all weekend the week before. We started the weekend early with Friday off, hence I'm a little behind on this post, so it'll be snapshots from over a week actually.

The weekend before last, my baby turned 9 years old. Between our three girls, Kait is the youngest. Before we know it, they'll all be teens!

On Friday we hunted down some pretty blossoms to take some pictures, and we picked out some new glasses for Ken. Oh, I can't wait until he gets them. They look so good on him. We ran a few more errands and did a bit of fun shopping too. I got some great stuff with a Victoria's Secret gift card Ken had given me on Valentine's Day. They currently have some very cute clutches and purses, by the way, as well as a big sale on their fragrances.

For our date, we took another hotel night away from home. It's always good to get away for the evening, (even despite that I was coming down with some kind of virus). I'll post a hotel review separately. The date started in the early afternoon when Ken took me by Chandler Park. I'd never been there before (and I thought we were just heading to the hotel). It was fun to explore and enjoy the fresh air...and we like to kiss in parks haha:)

We saw Get Out in theaters. It was cuuurazy but very good. So many good twists! The next morning we had some brunch at IHOP before heading home. Tulsa readers, FYI - the IHOP at 71st and 169, the wait staff could use some serious improvement.

We thoroughly enjoyed The Oscars, though we were rooting for La La Land. Quite a bit of a hiccup at the end, which I'm sure you're now seen all over social media. Overall though it was an amazing show with some hilarious jokes and very real truths. And of course some gorgeous dresses.

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and have a great week!!

  1. Those blossoms are a dazzling sight! Here we are at or below the freezing mark, with a good deal of snow still on the ground. We won't see blossoms until May.
