Spring 2017 Fashion Preview
Honestly there are a few trends for Spring 2017 that scare me, like fishnets underneath distressed jeans and the heavily fringed cropped denim. But then again, there are some spring trends I can totally get on board with; like bell sleeves, the usual floral prints, and off-the-shoulder looks. These all have a romantic and boho vibe that I love for Spring. Pictured: Rebecca Minkoff Women's Merryl Dress
A trend that is finally starting to grow on me a little is the bomber jacket. I've admired it on fashion bloggers this past year, but have still had a hard time imagining myself in one. For those of you born after the eighties, you may not know just how much the bomber jacket will make a gal my age feel like I'm right back in high school, and that is definitely not something I want to re-imagine. Besides, I'm more for a faux-leather motto jacket or a khaki trench coat, but who knows. Pictured: French Connection Women's Gilliam Stitch Bomber Jacket
I simply can't get enough cold-shoulder and off-the-shoulder. This trend is here to stay, and it's now available at various price points and anywhere from Saks to Wal-Mart. This Spring is the perfect time to get in on the trend if you haven't already. Pictured: Parker Women's Kiara White Off-the-Shoulder Blouse
I'm definitely okay with the fact that block heels are going to be big this Spring. They look perfect with a spring midi skirt or cropped jeans, and they're nice and comfy to walk in. Pictured: SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker Women's Tartt Dress Pump // Nine West Women's Abla Leather Dress Pump
While florals are always in for Spring, the specific prints vary each year. In recent years, for example, florals have been bold and modern. For 2017, the top-trending florals consist of a more traditional print. I'm seeing words like "perennials" and "brocade," both of which would suggest a traditional and dressy take on the trend. And by traditional, I mean a more accurate take on flora and fauna versus the modern, artistic patterns we've seen the last few years. I think it's the perfect sort of floral to go with the ruffled, wavy, and off-the-shoulder silhouettes of the season. Pictured: Parker Women's Lianna Dress
