Q&A: Thanksgiving 911

Every Thanksgiving hostess has his or her moments of anxiety. Hell, I've been making holiday dinners and hosting dinner parties for a decade, and I still get a little nervous when it come to roasting the perfect turkey. That combined with kids, houseguests, and having to make an endless supply of side dishes all timed in perfect harmony...it's a lot for one person. Hopefully by the time you've read this post, I will have answered any of your looming questions, but if there is still anything you are concerned about, please leave a comment at the end of the post, and I'll be sure to answer. 1. What if I overcook the turkey, and the breast meat is dry? Slice it thin and soak it in warm chicken or turkey stock.
2. How do I get the skin beautiful golden brown? Lots of butter! Separate the skin and push butter directly over the meat then spread more butter over the outside of the skin. Also cover just the breast of th…

Blogger Style: NYFW Spring 2017

I've been enjoying NYFW how any true introvert would - on my device, from the comforts of home. The shows included some gorgeous collections for Fall / Winter 2017, with a lot of pretty hair and makeup inspo as well. But what I'm always most interested to see is the street style. And by street style, I don't mean what the average New Yorker was randomly snapped in; but what the designers, models, bloggers, and fashion editors wear during their busy week, strutting around on the concrete runways of Manhattan. True fashion is about making a statement. I love how these fashion bloggers incorporated graphic tees from Prabal Gurung's collection. Phrases like "Love Is Love", "I Am An Immigrant", "We Will Not Be Silenced", etc. are of course very timely and need to keep being said. The ultra-conservative will continue to bully by saying that people in the arts, fashion, etc. have no business weighing in on politics, but if you're human and have a voice, those are the only prerequisites for speaking up for what is right, period. Anyway...

Top fashion bloggers, and two of my personal favorites, Arielle Charnas of Something Navy and Jenny Cipoletti from Margo and Me take us behind-the-scenes  at NYFW with Style Code Live.

Bloggers like Aimee Song, Rachel Parcell, and Sydney Summer always look so chic. If you follow the individual links below, you'll see roundups of what each blogger wore the entire week.

I really like Jenny's print dress with the trench coat and that gorgeous pink coat on Aimee Song. Arielle's plaid top with leather pants are undeniably cool, though I do believe I'd swap out those stiletto heels for some boots more suited to walking. Which one is your favorite look?
