25 Halloween Costumes w/Your LBD

The easiest way to create a last-minute or inexpensive Halloween costume is to start with things you already have. I do it every year, because I get so frustrated with how expensive yet poorly-made most Halloween costumes are. I'd rather use what is already in my closet, or spend a little extra on accessories or a new dress that I can wear anytime of the year. A little black dress is the easiest way to use what you have to create a Halloween costume with a few inexpensive accessories and other accessories you probably already have in your closet.Pictured Above: Halloween Black Mesh Dress

1. Black Cat - This is the easiest way to use your little black dress on Halloween. I know it's pretty much the most generic costume in history, but for good reason - it's just so easy and affordable. It's the perfect last-minute costume for women, because you could really use any black outfit even if you don't have a little black dress. Pair it with your black flats or heels and a…

Snapshots from the Week

I hope you guys had an awesome week! Mine was a bit jam-packed; even after I edited these pics down, I still had to narrow it down some more. Ken had a four day weekend last week, so we had plenty of time to relax at home and to do some fun things around town. I am definitely ready for this weekend, how about you?

We had a very yummy lunch downtown before some shopping and errands. Ken took me to the Boston Avenue Grille downtown Tulsa. I tried the chicken nachos with white queso and a snickerdoodle cookie. Yum, yum, yum, it was so good. It was also quick and affordable and had a nice environment...all of the reasons to go back for more!

Last Saturday we went to Bartlesville for the Shamrock the Ville run (he ran...I took pics) which raised money for the Mary Martha Outreach. It was a cold, yucky, rainy morning to run; but he did it none the less and did a great job. It was fun to be there with my husband and get some pics.

Ken runs several times a week with the Charity Miles app and does various runs for charities. In fact he is participating in a virtual run as I'm writing this. It's the Moonjoggers Extraterrestrial Abduction Day 5K to benefit the MS Society.

We both did some much-needed clothes shopping. Old Navy has no shortage of off the shoulder tops, by the way.:) Those beautiful flowers are some mums he bought for me. I do love flowers.:) And the wine we tried and liked very much this week was by Noble Vines. Click here to see the latest wine reviews on the blog.

We kicked off Spring Break for the kids with a day of lunch, Philbrook, and our favorite candy shop. I feel like I'm not doing it justice to call it a mere candy shop. Pinkitzel has a pastry counter, coffee, and a very large gift shop. It's an explosion of pink, sweets, and fun; and most important - macarons.

Philbrook currently has a colorful yarn exhibit in the rotunda. You can see more of my pics from that here >. Our delicious lunch pictured above was at Pei Wei. My goodness, we love that place. And two out of three of our kids loved the sushi...not bad. Ken had a little too much wasabi, but his sinus cavities have since made a full recovery.

This weekend was off to a great start with St. Patrick's Day and Beauty and the Beast.:) But those pics will be in next week's post. Tonight we're having another hotel staycation for the night, and some family time with the kiddos before we head out.

I hope you had a lovely week and that your weekend is off to a great start. Enjoy!
