3 DIY Exfoliating Facial Masks

Exfoliating is one of the most important steps when it comes to skincare. As we age, the skin doesn't naturally exfoliate as often, so it needs a little help. The immediate benefit to exfoliating is that it removes dead skin and encourages skin cell renewal, for younger looking skin. If you incorporate an exfoliating scrub into your skincare regimen once a week, the long term benefits include a reduction of dark spots, scars, fine lines, and wrinkles. Best of all, with regular at-home exfoliation, you don't need to spend a lot of money on expensive microdermabrasion treatments. With these easy-to-make DIY masks, you'll enjoy glowing, younger-looking skin with the added bonus of a fun and relaxing #selfcaresunday.

I've created three different DIY exfoliating masks to meet different skincare needs and to match different skin types. Each mask is formulated with an essential oil to enhance those skincare benefits. Though you could omit them and just use the first two ingr…

In Bloom at Utica Square

My husband Ken and I had a few very lovely dates over the weekend. And what was going to be a quick cup of coffee at the end of an already-wonderful date turned into me taking about a gazillion pics of flowers.

The tulips are in full bloom at Utica Square in Tulsa, and they are gorgeous! When I realized I probably looked like someone who has never seen a flower before in her entire life, I turned to Ken and said, "I know these are just tulips, but damn, these are some good-looking tulips, right?!"

Some of them had so many petals, while the more classic-looking tulips were very large in size. And they were all so colorful. According to the flower muse, the tulips with multiple layers of petals are called double-bloom ("peony tulips").

In the beautiful courtyard in front of Starbucks we also saw some pink and white dogwood blossoms in both pink and white. If you're in the mood for some spring flowers, Utica Square is the place to be! Things are also blooming at Philbrook, and we recently saw from the street that the azaleas are in full bloom at Woodward Park.

It's the perfect time to grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the beautiful season with the one you love.:) I just need to bring my DSLR next time!
