A Vintage-Inspired Home Office

My husband and I have a dream, and a very real goal, to buy a house that we can retire in. On my list of things I'd love for the house to include is an extra bedroom that I could turn into a beautiful home office. I envision a very Instagram-worthy desk, a place to store all of the PR samples I get, and some pretty tufted accent chairs: where I can enjoy coffee breaks with my husband, who luckily also works from home.

When I get inspiration from vintage home offices on the web, I'm most attracted to spaces with a touch of modern glam. My husband and I both like transitional decor - old meets new. For example, I'd pair a modern mirrored desk with one of these antique desk chairs. Seating isn't often the focal point of an office, but why shouldn't it be? We spend all day sitting in it, after all.

My husband and I take frequent breaks throughout the day, with a coffee break here and there and a lunch hour during which we watch one of our favorite shows togeth…

Snapshots from the Week

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and that your week is off to a good start. My husband and I have enjoyed some romantic coffee dates and walks and another trip to Utica. There are so many lovely places to walk around in Tulsa now that the weather is finally warming up. Though it's about to warm up a little too much, I'm afraid. And my bum shoulder is almost all better, so I can finally catch up with posting. Ken and I also get to go to an Influencer event tonight in Tulsa. We'll Instagram that later, and I'll post about it here on the blog.

One more quick update before I share my pics from the week - I received a note from Tulsa People Magazine yesterday that they want to use one of my photos in an upcoming print issue. :) I get brands wanting to use my pics online here and there, but this will be a first for a print publication. Pretty exciting.🙂 Pictured above: crayola sculpture art at the Tulsa Library

Ken took me out for some nice lunches this week, including Panera. It's always been one of my favorite places. If you haven't been there recently, you have to go and check out their new strawberry-rhubarb cake! Yum!

Also very yummy is the lavender latte at The Phoenix coffee shop! The Phoenix is definitely one of our favorite places to grab coffee when the weather is nice, because it's right across the street from a beautiful little park.

Riverside park is looking lovely right now too. There aren't as many flowers there as some of our other spots, but there is the river and my favorite kind of geese.:) Not to mention some private places for snuggling and some adorable heart-shaped leaves.:)

Utica Square will always be a favorite, because it's where we had one of our first dates. And it's perfect for when the weather is a bit too warm; we can grab coffee at Starbucks and walk around inside our favorite shops, like West Elm and Pottery Barn. This time I tried a new pastry at Starbucks - the chocolate hazelnut croissant. It's just as good as it looks!

My favorite outfit for these dates has been my new SheIn Women's Striped Off The Shoulder Ruffle Sleeve Blouse. It's so perfect for spring and hits on three trends at once - off the shoulder, bell sleeves, and ruffles; and it was only $20.99. You can shop the look here >.

Well we are off to run errands and go to that VIP event tonight. Follow on Instagram for behind-the-scenes. Have a great week!
