3 Looks for a Summer Wedding

It seems not too long ago when I shared three looks to wear to a spring wedding. But that season has come and gone so quickly, and summer is upon us. And it is the biggest season of the year for weddings, so chances are you have a few invites and may be wondering what to wear. It's pretty easy to figure out summer wedding attire if you keep the location in mind.

Of course you have the invite to start with as well. It should say "Black Tie Attire" or "Black Tie Optional" or perhaps something like "Formal Beach Attire," and it will have the ceremony time. Generally indoor evening weddings call for more formal attire than outdoor afternoon weddings.

For an indoor wedding, no matter what time of year, you can never go wrong with a Black Formal Dresses. An elegant knee-length cocktail dress, like this FAIRY COUPLE Women's Off the Shoulder Lace Vintage Wedding Party Cocktail Dress is perfect for a black-tie optional indoor wedding, while a sleeveless o…

My Summer Style Picks

Hello summer!😎 It's definitely feeling like summer here in the Midwest. Time for sundresses, sandals, and my favorite sunglasses. Though I confess, I don't wear shorts very often, no matter how hot it is. I still prefer my cropped boyfriend jeans or a skirt. Pictured above: Off the Shoulder Ruffle Spaghetti Strap Blouse

Anything off-the-shoulder is still super trendy, and I love it. A few other trends that we tend to see during spring; like pink, florals, and ruffles are all going well into summer this year. Another summer trend I've always loved is embroidery. It goes so well with the boho-chic look that will always be my favorite for summer.

Black Embroidered Cut-Out Midi Dress

And while pink is a top color trend this year; when it comes to the more boho-chic looks, it's all about bold primary colors. Reds, blues, and yellows especially look great with the pom and fringe trends. If you aren't sure about wearing the look head-to-toe, simply pair some bold boho earrings with a white summery top.

Now let's talk summer accessories. I love a great pair of sunglasses, and I can't live without my sandals during the summer. I have a tortoise-shell pair of sunnies that are so versatile. The fact that they have both shades of brown and black on them makes them go with just about any outfit. Then I have a pair of black cat-eye sunglasses, because, well, every lady should have a pair of those. They're so chic and instantly elevate any look.

Striped Embroidered Shirt Dress

I do love a straw tote, but when it comes to my summer bags, I use the same classic crossbody bags I use year-round. They just go with everything, and they're hands-free; so I can shop, sip on my coffee, and still hold my husband's hand.💕

My sandals may need an upgrade this summer. I've had the same gold-tone gladiator sandals for a few years, and they're finally looking a bit worn. I do have a great pair of brown braided sandals. Though I have to say, metallic is the way to go if you want sandals that will go with just about anything.

Embroidered Cold-Shoulder Midi Dress

Finally, we can't talk about summer style without talking about swimwear, right? I have to say, I don't go swimming very often, but whenever I do, I'm all about the cover-up. There is nothing more chic than a beautiful one-piece, and a breezy summer dress is just the thing to layer over a swimsuit. And of course, I need one of those super cute summer hats.

  1. I like my shoulders covered because they get chilled from all the air conditioning around here. 😎
