A Vintage-Inspired Home Office

My husband and I have a dream, and a very real goal, to buy a house that we can retire in. On my list of things I'd love for the house to include is an extra bedroom that I could turn into a beautiful home office. I envision a very Instagram-worthy desk, a place to store all of the PR samples I get, and some pretty tufted accent chairs: where I can enjoy coffee breaks with my husband, who luckily also works from home.

When I get inspiration from vintage home offices on the web, I'm most attracted to spaces with a touch of modern glam. My husband and I both like transitional decor - old meets new. For example, I'd pair a modern mirrored desk with one of these antique desk chairs. Seating isn't often the focal point of an office, but why shouldn't it be? We spend all day sitting in it, after all.

My husband and I take frequent breaks throughout the day, with a coffee break here and there and a lunch hour during which we watch one of our favorite shows togeth…

Hello! I hope you've all been doing well. We have been in the process of moving to Texas; including a few different hotels, a few drives back and forth to Tulsa, and some major apartment hunting by my husband. His hard work paid off very well, as we ended up in a beautiful luxury apartment.

We still have most of our things in storage, which my husband Ken did all by himself because of my back injury. I really couldn't have handled it without him.

Once we do get completely settled in, we know we'll totally love it here. There are two very nice pools with cabanas...cabanas each with a t.v. inside! They have several other outdoor areas, like a yoga lawn, a fire pit and grill area, and an outdoor community spot with picnic tables and pretty cafe lights. There are also two gyms and a wellness center with free fitness classes. And three days a week, they have a new food truck come to the community, one of which is Saturday brunch!

Our German Shepherd Emma has two dog parks here, which she could enjoy IF she ever learns to behave herself. (She barks nonstop at other dogs.)

Just across the street, Ken and I have a beautiful new walking trail (pictured above) with benches and a pretty pond with a fountain. Just as soon as the weather cools down a bit, we can have a picnic over there.😊

In addition to all of the perks outside our apartment, inside our new home...well, it's the prettiest place both Ken and I have lived I think our whole lives. Once we're done furnishing the place, I'd be happy to give you guys a home tour on the blog!

After driving around the area, Ken and I have seen that there are so many great places to shop and dine just in the immediate neighborhoods, in addition to Dallas. I look forward to exploring all of that with him and sharing it here on the blog. I hope you all have a great weekend!
