My Favorite Jewelry Trends for Fall

As back-to-school approaches, I can't help but look forward to the Fall season. One of the best things about Fall in my opinion, is the fashion! With tall boots and suede hats to chic satchels and statement jewelry, it's the best time of the year to have fun with accessories. Personally, one of my favorite Autumn accessories, and the easiest way to update an outfit, is jewelry. From a big bold ear cuff to minimal gold necklaces with interesting little pendants, my fashion forecast for Fall this year includes more modern and sleek pieces.

For example, while I tend to love a pair of sparkly statement studs or a larger dangling statement earring, this Fall I see a modern ear cuff being one of the biggest earring trends, and it's definitely one of my favorite jewelry trends! It looks great on its own or paired with some gold hoops, and you can even pair it with a cool ear crawler. These elegant and modern ear cuffs come with sleek built-in tassel earrings. "Darcy Merriweather has just discovered she hails from a long line of Wishcrafters-witches with the power to cast spells by making a wish. She's come to Enchanted Village to learn her trade but finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation..." ~from Book 1 of the Wishcraft Mystery series by Heather Blake.

I've been reading this book series for years, and I absolutely love it! Ken and I both like anything having to do with the supernatural, so we both enjoy books and movies that have a supernatural angle. If you keep up on Instagram, you know we love shows like The Originals, Supernatural, and the new Midnight Texas (which we highly recommend and is based on a set of Charlaine Harris novels).

Though the Wishcraft Mystery series does contain a murder mystery in each novel, and has multiple supernatural themes, it definitely doesn't fall into the horror genre at all. It's a very charming story, set in a magical New England town, full of interesting characters and heartwarming relationships...and a few adorable animals who can talk (because they used to be people).

The protagonist, Darcy Merriweather is someone I think people in their thirties and forties especially can really relate to, even though she happens to have magical powers. She is divorced and starting over in the Enchanted Village. Darcy tends to find herself trying to move on from ghosts of the past, while dealing with the hectic day-to-day, and working towards the future of her dreams. I think we can all relate to that as adults.

It's a light read, but not too light. The writing is smart and witty, and the plot has a lot of interesting layers to it.

There are currently seven books in the Wishcraft Mystery series. You can get them all here > or start with the first one - It Takes A Witch. I just finished up the sixth and will be starting on the seventh one soon. If you try it out, give me a tag on Instagram with #KCLBookClub to let me know if you like it!

  1. I love series like this! You should read the "Cheese Shop Mystery" series which is about this lady who owns a cheese shop and gets involved in murders happening in her town. I LOVE the recipes and food in this book.
