KCL 2018 Beauty Awards

Welcome to the latest beauty edit and the very first beauty awards here on the blog! I’ve tried so many wonderful beauty products this year and wanted to let you guys know which were my top must-have products of the year. I’ve picked from new and small businesses only, as I love to work with indie brands. And like most of the beauty brands I review; most of these are organic, natural, and cruelty-free.

These are the items that long after the required testing and promotion period, I find myself still using and preferring above any others. The're the products which despite a never ending stream of free PR samples, I would still spend my own money (and in some cases have) in order to get more of. And whether affordable or more costly, these are the beauty products that I truly think are worth the price. So if you’re thinking about adding more beauty or selfcare products into your 2019 routine, I highly recommend each of these brands.

KCL Friday Finds

I've been seeing so many gorgeous home decor trends for 2018. And while I'm going to do a more extensive trend report, this week's Friday Finds is here to give you guys a pretty little sneak peek! Pictured: Macrame Fringe Wall Hanging by Seven Summers Old

The macrame decor trend that exploded in 2017 is stronger than ever for the new year, and I love it! My taste in decor varies so much. I love everything from traditional and Victorian to minimal and modern. Though I also love the look of boho-chic and nature-inspired decor. The macrame trend fits in perfectly with boho-chic home decor.

Whether you go with a wall hanging or a plant hanger, macrame is a great way to add interest to any room. It's always best to add in something other than just a bunch of framed art. I like to have some variety with different shapes and textures.

You'll find a few other top trends in home accessories at Seven Summers Old as well. I've noticed a steady increase in mystical home items, like crystals and moon-phase art. If you're looking to get in on that trend, this Amethyst Moon Cycle Dream Catcher is perfect! (Image by @leahklos.) Not only is violet a big color trend for 2018, but dream catchers are also on the list of top home accessories this year. If you have a specific design or color in mind, you can request a custom order!

As I said above, moon-phase art has become quite popular as well. It seems we are on a collective quest for inner peace. And what better way to find it than through art. At My Meraki Prints, you can download a number of nature-inspired designs to create a more peaceful space; including lunar phase wall art, meditation art, like the "inhale, exhale" prints pictured above, and these beautiful photography prints.

I love how the prints are available for digital download. All you have to do is print and frame, and you can instantly update any space. Shop now and save 30% of any three prints (no coupon code necessary), or use Code 40OFF to SAVE 40% when you buy 6 or more!

This last find isn't a sneak peek, so much as it is a flash forward to spring decor! Whether you love a new trend, or stick with the classics; a floral wreath is always in for spring. While most of us are battling a very cold winter at the moment, I'm ready for the next season, aren't you?

You'll find a lot of beautiful holiday and seasonal wreaths at Nestled Home, including wreaths for Valentine's Day and Easter. This Floral Spring Door Basket is a pretty alternative to the traditional wreath. To incorporate the violet color trend this year, go with this pretty Lavender and Pink Spring Wreath. Purchase any spring wreath at Nestled Home, and you'll get 10% off your next order!

What are your favorite home decor trends this year, and which rooms in your home are you looking to spruce up this season? Let me know in the comments below!
