A Vintage-Inspired Home Office

My husband and I have a dream, and a very real goal, to buy a house that we can retire in. On my list of things I'd love for the house to include is an extra bedroom that I could turn into a beautiful home office. I envision a very Instagram-worthy desk, a place to store all of the PR samples I get, and some pretty tufted accent chairs: where I can enjoy coffee breaks with my husband, who luckily also works from home.

When I get inspiration from vintage home offices on the web, I'm most attracted to spaces with a touch of modern glam. My husband and I both like transitional decor - old meets new. For example, I'd pair a modern mirrored desk with one of these antique desk chairs. Seating isn't often the focal point of an office, but why shouldn't it be? We spend all day sitting in it, after all.

My husband and I take frequent breaks throughout the day, with a coffee break here and there and a lunch hour during which we watch one of our favorite shows togeth…

KCL Friday Finds

Happy weekend!! I've got another round up of beautiful home decor items for you guys today. It hasn't been intentional, it just so happens that the Friday Finds participants have all been home decor shops lately, and I'm loving it! With Spring coming up soon, it's the perfect time to spruce things up around the house and update your decor for the new season. Pictured: Geometric Pineapple Jewelry Holder/Home Accessory

First up is something we could all use more of in our homes - hygge by Snygge Home (pronounced snoo-gue). Snygge is a play on the danish word hygge that I'm sure you've heard of by now...or at least seen and thought what is hygge anyway? Hygge is "a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being." You can read more about it on Hygge Home.

At Snygge Home, owner Alice and her boyfriend Jack create hygge-inspired homeware, gifts, and event decorations using 3D printing. And like most Etsy shops, they also specialize in custom orders, so you can work directly with them to get exactly what you want! There are several pieces at Snygge I would personally love to order, including these geometric ring holders. Browse all of their home goods here > and head to their Instagram to enter their current giveaway!

This next shop is the perfect way to add some nature to your home in a way that will last all season long. The floral paintings at Ashley Bradley Art are made with such pretty pastel shades that evoke a feeling of happiness and serenity, and they're currently on sale! My favorite is this Shabby-Chic Peony Floral Painting pictured above.

Ashley specializes in the floral designs, as well as her original angel paintings and custom work. As with the florals, her angel paintings are made with such elegance and beauty. It truly accomplishes what art is meant for - to evoke thought and bring up feelings. The soft abstract designs and pretty pastel shades are perfect for a space in your home that could use some femininity and tranquility.

Last but not least, this shop is a must if you want to update your kitchen with some fun accessories for Spring. Ana at One Broken Button makes embroidered tea towels, aprons, and more. What really caught my eye are all of the wine, coffee, and floral designs! I've probably said it a million times on the blog already, but I think a great tea towel is the perfect way to update a kitchen, and it also makes for a really nice hostess gift.

I'll be reviewing a fun wine-themed teal towel next week, so stay tuned on Insta for that! And just for you Friday Finds shoppers, Ana has created a coupon code. Use code KCL0318 to receive 15% OFF store-wide during the month of March!

You can browse each of the featured shops using the links below. Grab a cup of coffee and relax, enjoy the shops, and enjoy your weekend!
