Easy Everyday Contouring and Highlighting

Contouring and highlighting has been a huge makeup trend in recent years, and with good reason - you can use concealer to achieve more defined cheek bones, to make your lips look bigger, and my personal favorite - to hide a double chin. And despite all of the intricate tutorials out there, I want to show you that it can actually be quick an easy!

The first trick is to start with the right concealer shades. First, let’s get one thing straight: when I say highlighter, I do not mean the super light and shimmery highlighter that should only be reserved for above the cheekbones. I’ve seen all too many makeup vloggers apply that all over, from the forehead to the tip of the nose, to the cupid’s bow and the chin. Those however, are rather places for a creamy skin-tone concealer.

How to Pick the Right Shade of Concealer

For the highlights, you want a concealer that is one to two shades lighter than your foundation. If you just go one shade lighter, as I have, pick one with a yellow tone, so y…

Looking Forward to Fall

I know, it's still officially Summer, and it will be for a while. It will certainly feel like Summer long after too. But every year, I can't hep but look forward to fall right about now. We are getting closer to August, which means school will start back up again next month, and we'll be a little bit closer to cooler temps, fall boots, and undoubtedly my favorite time of the year.

My husband and I both love to decorate for fall and for the holidays. And while we didn't get around to a Spring wreath this year, we certainly planned to have one for the holidays as usual. As we looked at all of the beautiful options available, this particular Spring Garden Wreath looked like the perfect floral wreath that would work now for Summer and would transition beautifully for Fall as well.

I've always wanted to incorporate rich purple tones into my Fall decor, and this wreath is perfect for that. The addition of the branches make it work for Autumn, while the yellow sunflowers work for both seasons. And of course it is in fact a "Spring Wreath". With the lighter yellow flowers and light purple, it definitely will work for Spring too. The attention to detail on each flower is so beautiful, don't you think?

My husband an I both love flowers and greenery, though I admit I'm not so great at keeping plants alive. We'd love to have some floral garland and maybe a nice decorative tree as well. I was never one for faux plants when I was younger and had my own apartment. But I know when to admit defeat; I'm going to need faux plants that will last. Luckily there are so many beautiful and realistic-looking faux options available these days, like these fake palm trees and the garden wreath pictured above.

There are so many gorgeous faux wreath and garland options available, as well pre-made centerpieces and individual silk flowers that you can use to make your own wreaths or arrangements. Use code  BLOGGER10 to receive 10% off your order here >. Happy shopping!

Thank you to Commercial Palm Trees for providing this wreath for review purposes.
