KCL Friday Finds

Welcome to another Friday Finds! Can you guys believe it's the weekend before Thanksgiving?! Time has been flying by since we moved into our new home, and I'm miraculously keeping up with all of the PR samples and promos and photography. At KCL we've also passed 5K followers on Insta and have a huge giveaway featuring some of my favorite things...over $500 worth of faves (including this gorgeous red nail polish)! You can enter to win here >.

Next week's finds will be Black Friday deals, so there won't be the usual small shops featured, but that is to make way for my big Holiday Gift Guide that will be posted on Small Business Saturday! On today's finds, you get a sneak peek at one of the gift guide picks as well as some self-care bath and body goodies and some adorable ornaments to help you kick off your holiday decor. Enjoy!

The KCL Beauty Edit

Welcome to another KCL Beauty Edit! I've really loved so many of the beauty and makeup products I tried last month. There is usually at least one dud in the bunch that I reluctantly have to give a bad review, but I have something good to say about each one of these products. A few of them I very highly recommend, so grab a cup of coffee and check it all out. If you have a question about any of the products mentioned, please leave it below in the comments section. And if you don't have time to read this, you can skip ahead and listen to my video review here while you work or whatever. Enjoy!

The new skincare line I tried last month was from LHB Natural Skincare, which included a facial wash and two different facial serums. I recently posted about LHB in an anti-aging skincare routine blog and video to show how I use each of these products. Of course I started with the facial wash, which I really loved. The LHB Coconut & Sea Clay Mineral Face Wash is great for any skin type, though I'd highly suggest it for dry skin. The clay helps to absorb dirt and makeup, while some of the oil is left behind for a hydrating glow. My favorite thing about it was how quick and easy it is to use, and it effectively removes makeup. My second favorite thing is how big it is. For $17.00 and considering how large of a bottle it comes in (and how well it works), the facial wash at LHB is such a great buy!

The LHB Mature Skin Serum is a little more expensive, but not by much, and it's worth every penny. This moisturizing serum contains a marine botanical called Antarcticine, a powerhouse anti-aging ingredient that stimulates the formation of collagen and elastin. I definitely noticed a decrease in my fine lines as well as my deeper wrinkles after consistent and continued use. The bottle was a good size as well. I used it day and night, and not just on my face but on my neck and hands as well, and it lasted about a month.
Another item I highly recommend from LHB is the Hyaluronic Serum. I think hyaluronic acid is a skincare ingredient everyone should incorporate into their skincare routine, regardless of age or skin type. It's one of the best ingredients for helping the skin to retain moisture. I love how it can help with fine lines and wrinkles over time, and it can also have an immediate plumping and smoothing effect as well. The Hyaluronic Serum 8 by LHB has the added benefits of aloe, rose, lavender, & Pro-Vitamin B5. And while it's so moisturizing, the consistency is light enough that you can layer it with your favorite facial oil or cream.

I did test one other skincare product last month and it too contained hyaluronic acid. I was incredibly impressed with the Skin 2 Spirit Caffeine Eye Whip. In addition to the hyaluronic acid, it contains caffeine, aloe, coconut oil, and quite a few botanical extracts. It's another one of those products that works well both over time and after just one use. I've always struggled with dark under eye circles, and the Caffeine Eye Whip really worked for me. The immediate benefits I saw from this eye cream was a plumping effect that really helped to smooth out my lines and wrinkles, and it noticeably decreased my dark under eye circles in a little less than a week. And it smells incredible! In fact every time I used it, my husband told me that I smelled good. It has a slight coffee scent, but to me it smells more like sweet vanilla.

I also tried a makeup product from Skin 2 Spirit. I love that they carry natural and organic skincare as well as makeup. I tested the Skin 2 Spirit Natural Mineral Mascara, and I absolutely love it! I have very sensitive eyes, and I can say that this mascara didn't make my allergies act up. It an organic, cruelty-free, and hypoallergenic mascara. Best of all, it works so well! I'll test other mascaras for the sake of giving you guys honest reviews, but if I didn't review makeup for a living, I would honestly stick with this mascara for life. It really lengthens and thickens lashes and I love the more natural formula. If you guys want to try the eye cream or the mascara (and I highly recommend you do), you can use code KCL15OFF for 15% off! These products are very affordable to begin with, so it's such a great deal.

As I said above, I struggle with allergies, and my eyes can really suffer when I wear makeup. I was happy to try another organic mineral makeup line. I tried a beautiful eyeshadow palette from Toups and Co Organics. They carry all-natural bath and body products, baby products, and some really beautiful and affordable organic makeup. I tried the Toups and Co Natural Eye Makeup Palette, which contains three neutral shades that are great for any skin tone. I'm wearing the natural palette in the video below, and included some swatches so you can see what each color looks like on.

I love that the neutral palette comes with a nice base shade as well as a gorgeous shimmery color, though I definitely want to try some of the other shades at Toups and Co. There are several other beautiful eye shadow singles available, so you can mix and match to create a custom palette.

In hair care last month, I got a nice sampling from The Healthy Farm Girl, who has been featured on KCL Friday Finds several times now. She carries a wide range of all-natural skin care, body care, and hair products. I wanted to give some of the hair care a try, and was happy to test this Sweet Spice Shampoo Bar. The hair products at The Healthy Farm Girl incorporate moisturizing oils and botanical essential oils to address specific hair types and any scalp issues. I loved the scent and really love that shampoo bars are eco-friendly, as they don't produce plastic waste.

I also tried the Lily Maid Conditioner and the Green Apple Hair Gel. I loved the herbal scent on the conditioner and really liked how it softened my hair without weighing it down. This line worked well on my thick frizzy hair, but I would highly suggest these all-natural hair products for anyone with scalp issues or dry, fine hair as well.

My absolute favorite from The Healthy Farm Girl was the hair gel. I struggle with frizzy hair to begin with, then add to that the Oklahoma humidity, and I need serious help. I had found a hair gel that worked for me when we lived in Texas, but as soon as we came back to Oklahoma, my hair was out of control. Even with multiple products - serums, oils, and gel; I still couldn't get my frizz under control. The Healthy Farm Girl hair gel not only smoothed down all of my frizz; it made my hair shiny, gave it weightless control that made my natural waves more defined, and it smells great! I cannot recommend this conditioner enough! You can save on cost and sample a bit of everything by trying the Complete Hair Care Set.

If you guys follow on Insta, you know how much I love nail polish. I've been able to try several really great brands this month, two of which are on today's edit. The first is Nail Social Nail Brand. They make their nail colors handmade, 5-Free, and cruelty-free; and the color selection is so fun. If you like bright colors and glitter, this is the nail polish for you! I tried the Straight to Voicemail - a beautiful neon pink, It's Party Time - a bright gold glitter, and 24K Mermaid - a shimmery aqua blue with gold glitter flakes.

I loved all three shades, and used the gold glitter and 24K Mermaid polish to create this DIY Mermaid Mani. I loved the pink just as much. It's such a perfect pink polish for Summer. Check out all of their bright, bold shades in their new summer collection!

The other nail polish I tried was from Flora 1761, a boutique nail polish brand inspired by vintage botanical prints. Their nail colors are 8-free, cruelty-free and come in the most elegant shades. They were kind enough to send me two nail colors, a base coat, and a top coat. Their Lily of the Valley lacquer is a beautiful white that would be perfect for a bride to be. I was inspired to shoot this color with the tool over-skirt I wore on my wedding day. You can see that photo here >.

Though my favorite nail color from Flora 1761 was Garden Rose - a gorgeous mauve shade that would be just as perfect during Spring or Fall. You can purchase both colors in a set with a lovely light pink shade if you shop this Fresh Bloom Set. Each of the colors were long-lasting. I made it at least a week without any chips or wear.

The Flora 1761 primer and especially the Essential Finish top coat are highly recommended in addition to the beautiful nail colors. The shine coat really helped to even out any imperfections to leave a perfectly smooth and shiny manicure. The beautiful bottles and the gold foil box each color comes in makes this nail polish perfect for gift giving.

Finally, I'm so excited to share Katrynthia Law Moisturizing Lipstick Butter with you guys. You've probably already seen this lipstick brand on Friday Finds and Instagram. Now I've previously boasted about the L'BRI lipstick for its moisturizing ability and beautiful colors, but despite how much I raved about that lipstick, I have to say it's been dethroned by Katrynthia Law. In addition to the incredible formula, it's just...well, cooler. Its modern and chic vibe just fits with the KCL brand, and I love their selection of wearable colors.

Made from a blend of natural oils and Vitamin E, this vegan lipstick brand is actually good for your lips. With the long-lasting color and moisturizing ingredients, this can take the place of multiple lip products! As far as the beautiful colors go, I've tried Alpha - a neutral medium pink, Pinecone - a warm pinkish red that is also very wearable, and Doc Sea - possibly my favorite, a cool toned and rich dark pink. Each of the Katrynthia Law lipsticks come individually packaged and gift wrapped in a chic black and white damask paper, so it's also perfect for gift giving!

Thank you so much guys for checking out the KCL Beauty Edit this month, and thank you to the brands who provided these incredible samples. I've made a long Beauty Edit video to go along with the blog. I'd love it if you checked that out and subscribed on Youtube if you haven't already.
