25 Halloween Costumes w/Your LBD

The easiest way to create a last-minute or inexpensive Halloween costume is to start with things you already have. I do it every year, because I get so frustrated with how expensive yet poorly-made most Halloween costumes are. I'd rather use what is already in my closet, or spend a little extra on accessories or a new dress that I can wear anytime of the year. A little black dress is the easiest way to use what you have to create a Halloween costume with a few inexpensive accessories and other accessories you probably already have in your closet.Pictured Above: Halloween Black Mesh Dress

1. Black Cat - This is the easiest way to use your little black dress on Halloween. I know it's pretty much the most generic costume in history, but for good reason - it's just so easy and affordable. It's the perfect last-minute costume for women, because you could really use any black outfit even if you don't have a little black dress. Pair it with your black flats or heels and a…

KCL Friday Finds

Hello and welcome to Friday Finds! If there was ever a week to sit back and relax with a cup of coffee and some online shopping, it's this weekend! My family and I have been settling into our new house, and while we still have unpacked boxes everywhere, the initial chaos and stress of moving is coming to a close. We are so excited to decorate our new home and enjoy the upcoming holidays, and we should be fully back into our daily routines as of next week. Meanwhile it's been full steam ahead at KCL, with some incredible collaborations and holiday gift guides coming soon! First, let's get to some new fun finds. Grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and enjoy these beautiful picks.

The first one, pictured above, is Sutton's Custom Designs, where owner and designer Lauren creates the most beautiful jewelry and accessories, like that gorgeous Chunky Knit Mustard Infinity Scarf. The hand-knit chunky scarves comes in several other colors; including a warm burnt orange, a classic red, and a beautiful jewel-toned teal.

In addition to the cozy and chic scarves, Lauren designs unique earrings and necklaces. Her colorful Hoop Tassel Earrings are in fact what caught my attention on her Instagram. They're lightweight and perfect for day or evening. You can pick between gold or silver on the hoop color, and while I personally love the mix of Fall colors, Lauren is happy to customize them for you in any single shade or color combination you prefer! This custom option makes them perfect for gift giving this holiday season.

My other top pick at Sutton's Custom Designs are these gorgeous boho-chic lightweight Feather Earrings. There are a lot of leather feather earrings out there, as the trend has exploded in recent years. I love how these are in keeping with that trend but are much more unique as well. Which ones are your favorite? Let me know in the comments below!

Also perfect for seasonal gift giving are the handcrafted soaps at HAUTBath. Made in Los Angeles, California, HautBath soaps are created in small batches using organic oils and butters. Owner Desiree uses the cold process method for creating all-natural soaps with raw materials and an emphasis on ingredients that are the utmost in quality, are plant-based, and have therapeutic properties for your skin. Both the name and the chic aesthetic of HautBath are fashion-inspired, as Desiree graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Her love of indie music also makes its way into the brand, with each soap named after songs that are meaningful to her.

With the dry winter weather headed our way, I'd suggest the HAUTBath Coconut Milk and Oatmeal Soap - made with a custom blend of lavender, bergamot, and cedarwood essential oils for soothing and antibacterial effects. Combined with colloidal oatmeal and coconut milk powder, this soap can help soothe inflammatory conditions like psoriasis, eczema, rashes, acne, poison ivy, rosacea and more.
For gentle facial care, try this Rose Clay and Dead Sea Mud Soap, formulated with rose clay and dead sea mud to gently cleanse, detoxify, and exfoliate the skin. For the man in your life, you can browse the HAUTBath collection of soaps for men. Stock up with Free Shipping on orders over $25!

I'm happy to say this next shop will also be on the 2018 KCL Holiday Gift Guide, which will go live on Small Business Saturday. At Decker Honey Bees you can find a number of accessories, tees, beauty care, mugs, and totes; all inspired by their love of honey bees. Owner and beekeeper Marissa Decker began beekeeping part time as a hobby, then soon after had a hive of her own and wanted to create beautiful designs that depicted her love of honey bees and the important role they play in our ecosystem.

Along with awareness for bees and their impact on our food source, Marissa also wants to bring awareness about the importance of providing bee-friendly landscapes. Thus Decker Honey Bees includes a free packet of wildflower pollinator seeds with every shirt purchase.

You'll have to keep an eye out on Insta to see which tee I picked for myself, though a close second was this beautiful Magnolia and Honey Bees tee. Their signature magnolia and daisy designs can also be found on their cute totes and mugs. Pair a tee with a matching mug or tote and one of their honey beauty products for the ultimate gift basket. Especially if you live in the Belton, Texas area, this would make for a wonderful local-themed welcome basket to visiting family during the holidays.

To spruce up your home for the holidays, I think scent is just as important as decor. The warm autumn scents like apple and cinnamon really get me in the festive mood. And while I do love a scented candle, I also like to have spray fresheners on hand for a quick scent boost, as well as a freshener I can spray onto fabrics. Not all of our sofa cushions have removable covers, so a fabric freshener is a must.

The scents at Grow Fragrance are 100% plant-based, toxin-free, and are committed to fair wages and eco-conscious practices. I recently got a sampling of each of their scents, and I love each one! Though my favorite is their new limited edition Fall fragrance Apple Pomander air and fabric freshener. With notes of fresh apple, orange, cinnamon, and clove; it's a modern take on the classic apple-cinnamon fragrance. A quick spritz of this around your house, and it'll instantly smell like the holidays. The Apple Pomander scent can be purchased individually or as a pair with their other Autumn scent Citrus Cedar.

Their year round scents include Bamboo and Lavender Blossom. The Bamboo is such a fresh, clean scent; and the lavender has a relaxing floral scent that is perfect for bed linens and clothing. There are several ways to save at Grow Fragrance; including free shipping and returns, refer a friend for $10 off, or get 10% your first order by signing up on their email list. You can also save by stocking up or your favorite scents. Get 2 for $20 on the full size or 3 for $18 on the travel sizes.

As always, thank you so much for stopping by Friday Finds. I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing weekend. Leave me a comment before you go, then use the links below to browse around. Happy shopping!

  1. Congratulations on the new home, my friend! I know just how chaotic moving can be, but the unpacking part is less overwhelming because there isn't the pressure of having to get it all done in such a short time. Take the time to visualize where you want everything to go and the mood you want to create in each room and it just kind of flows and before you know it you're completely unpacked! As for all these suggestions, I love them! Those hoop earrings are so pretty and indeed unique. I also love the look and sound of those soaps! Thanks for sharing and I hope you had a great weekend!
